Lybarger Church and Cemetery

The Lybarger Church and Cemetery, located along route 96, south-west of Bedford at Madley,
on the way to Cumberland, MD, is scenic, beautifully maintained, and very historic.

The Lybarger Cemetery in Londonderry Twp., has a special Memorial to those Lybarger Family ancestors who are veterans of the Revolutionary War. Five members of the Lybarger Family all served in Captain Paxton's Company, 4th Company, 1st Battalion, of the Bedford County Militia.

Those five Lybarger Family Revolutionary War Veterans, that are buried here are:
 
George Lybarger born about 1730-1733, possibly in Philadelphia, PA.
Henry Lybarger born December 28, 1759 in Frederick County, MD, died September 1820.
Ludwick Lybarger Sr., born about 1733-1735, possibly in Philadelphia, PA, died about 1807.
Nicholas Lybarger Sr. born about 1735-1739, possibly in Philadelphia, PA., died in Bedford County, PA.
Nicholas Lybarger Jr. born abt 1753, in Frederick County, MD, died abt April 25, 1833.
