Phillip Snyder (1813 - 1891) (David Fletcher)

Philip Snyder, born September 25, 1813, married Mary Ann Fletcher on March 09, 1834. Mary Ann Fletcher, born January 22, 1812, was a daughter of John Fletcher (1774 - 1860) and Mary Means (1780-1840) - the oldest daughter of Daniel Means & Elizabeth Sparks.
(Additional information on the John & Mary Means / Fletcher Family.)

Philip was a son of Johannes Georg Schneider / Snyder (born August 29, 1771, in Rehrersburg, Tulpehocken Twp., Berks Co., PA, died in Bedford Co., PA in 1841) and Maria Barbara Kochendorfer (1775 - 1853). Maria Barbara was proved a daughter of George Phillip Kochendorfer, who was born April 08, 1746, in Berks Co., PA. Philip's parents were married in July of 1795.

Daniel & Baltzer Snyder - abt 1870 (David Fletcher)
Baltzer Snyder was the youngest to survive to adulthood. His brother Daniel was about two years older.

In 1875, Baltzer Snyder married Elizabeth Pee.

Baltzer was born June 21, 1850, to Phillip and Mary Ann Fletcher / Snyder.
Elizabeth, daughter of Jacob Pee and Sarah Lauderbaugh / Pee, was born November 06, 1854.

Baltzer's mother died prior to his marriage to Elizabeth Pee, and Philip Snyder never remarried and passed away in 1891, so Balzer and Elizabeth resided in the Philip Snyder Home and their eight children reached adulthood in their grandparents home.

Closer view of the Philip Synder Home (probably taken 1892-1899)
David Fletcher comments that with close inspection, the ladies on the porch may be:
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Pee / Snyder (holding a baby on her lap) and the older lady is probably
her mother, Sarah "Sallie" Lauderbaugh / Pee).

An area of the previous photo enhanced and enlarged showing Elizabeth Pee/ Snyder holding a baby,
with possibly her mother sitting to the left. Notice the chair sitting just inside the door.

By 1908, Baltzer and Elizabeth had nearly finished parenting their eight children.
